Travel through history one bite at a time! In this 3-week lunch club, students explore how people cooked and ate across different time periods. From Ancient civilizations to Medieval Europe and early America. Each week, we will prepare a lunch inspired by a specific era while learning how ingredients, tools, and traditions shaped the foods we enjoy today. This course blends food history, storytelling, and real cooking skills in a fun, format designed for older kids. Students will cook, learn, and enjoy a complete lunch together in a relaxed, social setting. Perfect for curious kids who love food, history, and learning by doing. Menu: Week 1 – Ancient Civilizations Roman-style Cheese flatbread Herbed chicken skewers Honey and Orange Cakes Week 2 – Medieval & Renaissance Europe Golden Chicken & Herb Hand Pies-Savory pastry filled with slow-cooked chicken Honey-Roasted Root Vegetables- Carrots and potatoes roasted with olive oil, thyme, Spiced Apple Tartlets- Warm apples baked with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove in a buttery crust Week 3 – Early America & the Industrial Age Cast-Iron Skillet Cornbread A foundational crop in early America Oven-Baked Buttermilk Chicken- prepared using traditional seasoning and baking methods Old-Fashioned Berry Cobbler Notes: This is a drop-off class, with 2 instructors per small group.Students will prepare and enjoy a full lunch each week during class.Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing are required.Missed classes are non-refundable; however, recipes will be provided.ESA vendor pay available, please contact us prior to registration.

Cancellation Policy We want every class and camp to be a wonderful experience! Because ingredients and supplies are purchased in advance, we’re not able to offer refunds. If you need to make a change, class exchanges are available with at least 3 days’ notice. Unfortunately, no credits or exchanges can be made within 3 days of the class. Camp registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. On the rare occasion that Meraki needs to cancel or reschedule, we’ll notify you right away and arrange a new date.
