Each week blends seasonal gardening activities with elevated recipes that highlight fresh herbs, root vegetables, and festive flavors. Students will gain confidence with knife handling, cooking techniques, and creative plating while enjoying their harvest together. Week 1: Root to Table Garden Focus: Plant winter greens & herbs. Learn about root vegetables and how they grow. Menu: Herb-Roasted Chicken Thighs with Root Vegetables — with garlic butter and thyme, served with carrots, parsnips, and potatoes Warm Spiced Apple Cider with Citrus & Cinnamon Week 2: Bread & Warmth Garden Focus: Dry herbs and use them in baking; learn about yeast & proofing. Menu: Focaccia Bread Art Boards: creative edible “art” using herbs, olives, and roasted vegetables pressed into focaccia dough Gingerbread Loaf with Maple Glaze & Candied Orange — classic holiday spice loaf with an elevated finish Week 3: Holiday Baking with the Garden Garden Focus: Incorporate dried herbs & seasonal flavors into holiday baking.
