Service Description

Over five weeks, students will explore the fascinating connection between plants, science, and food while discovering flavors and ingredients from around the world. Each week, we’ll grow, propagate, experiment, investigate, and cook our way through the garden. Students will explore everything from the secret life of seeds and how plants can be propagated from cuttings to underground roots and the surprising chemistry hidden inside colorful vegetables. Week 1 — Seeds & Sprouts: Vietnam Mini Greenhouses + Seed Science Lemongrass Chicken Rice Bowls Fresh Garden Rolls Sweet Chili-Lime Dipping Sauce Week 2 — Propagation Station Korea Plant Cuttings + The Science of Growing New Plants Korean BBQ Chicken Lettuce Wraps Crispy Scallion Pancakes Week 3 — Underground: India Roots, Tubers & Rhizomes Butter Chicken Turmeric Basmati Rice Skillet Naan WEEK 4 — The Color Changing Garden: Thailand Plant Chemistry Thai Basil Chicken and Noodles Color-Changing Cabbage Slaw Week 5 — The Harvest Table: Argentina Harvesting, Herbs + Building a Culinary Herb Garden to Take Home Chimichurri Steak Bites Crispy Smashed Potatoes Charred Corn & Tomato Salad Students will leave the series with their garden projects, new kitchen skills, recipes, and a whole new understanding of how the things we grow become the foods we eat. PLEASE NOTE: This is a 5-Week drop-off class. Students work in small groups with 2–3 instructors in the kitchen to guide and assist them throughout class.
